My great-grandmothers

Here's a photo of my two great-grandmothers on my mothers side. Their names are Sarah Catherine (Whicker) Gibson (left) and Elizabeth Katherine (Claxon/Claxton) Oliver (on the right).

Sarah Catherine Gibson and Elizabeth Katherine Oliver

A little story about Sarah C. Gibson. My mother told me that as she was getting older, she started getting more childlike - she used to play like she had something in her pocket and it was a little secret she had, and she used to giggle.

Elizabeth (Lizzie) Oliver my mother did not know quite as well. But she does remember her a little and she used to call my Uncle Bill (Oliver) pronounced it "Beelee".

First Entry

I decided to switch to a weblog format instead of having forums; first because I don't get that many public inquiries and second because it requires less to run Moveable type than it does to run the UBB forum software. I was able to configure Moveable Type by myself as opposed to UBBThreads which I needed help from my son on.

Having run my personal weblog on this software for some time I am very familiar with it and am very happy with the way it works.

In the future I will install some kind of a background for this weblog - something not too flashy, of course!

Finally, it will be a good reminder for me to keep researching: I tend to forget about doing research and get involved in other activies!

If you have inquiries on a surname or person, you are able to communicate with me in the comments section; especially if you don't mind leaving an inquiry for public viewing!
I'd advice using a "throwaway" email address for comments, since spammers frequent web sites looking for people to send their ads to. But I will also answer the inquiry publicly as well if a quesition is posted here.

I really hope this works out well for all of us!
